W400lv compliant vs WS400

Postby XCHASER » Fri Mar 18, 2011 2:17 am

Hello all from Australia, I have been always reading this forum for valuable information but have never registered and posted anything till now. I currently have a lph400 1.4mm setup with both silver and purple caps but wanted to get the lvx cap and use this gun soley for base. My question is there much difference for clearing between the w400lv4 and the ws400 in the 1.3 setup. Thanks

Hello "XCHASER"
Thank you for your visit and interest in Anest Iwata.
The LVX is a very good choice as a dedicated Basecoat gun.
The main difference between the W400LV & the WS400 is the WS has a larger material out put requires about 3 CFM more and a 9 PSI higher in let pressure - the WS400 is neigther HVLP or COMPLIANT.
Both guns spray just great.

If I'm reading you correctly - the W400LV would be the right choice.
If you could demo the guns side by side the choice would be easier.
Please keep me abreast as to what you deside.
Cheers,
"HUB" :)

HUB can u tell me pls is there much difference between the w400lv4 and the w400lv2, over here in Australia a lot of iwata users use the lv2 setup. I myself used this setup for many years before i purchased the lph400 which i prefer. Thanks :D

R U talking W400LV Compliant or W400 standard :?: Here in the US the W400LV compliant has only 1 air cap offering & thats the LV4 PN 93631621.

W400 Standard has 3 cap offering depending 0n the fluid nozzle size & the W400-LV2 is the most popular. The LV4 cap is not offered as an option here for the W400 standard.

Since the inception of the compliant gun and a change of the EPA Ruling the sales of the standard W400 R almost 0.

Yes there is a big difference between the 2 - the W400LV - sprays softer and has less over spray.

Yep, a little more, the Fluid nozzle needs to be changed out also.
Same needle fits 1.3, 4, & 6.
